Who runs the Youth Project?
The Youth Project is currently auspiced at cohealth. cohealth provides support in the day-to-day operational running of the Youth Project. cohealth is a leading provider of community health services across Melbourne’s western, northern and inner suburbs working to improve the health and connectedness of some of Melbourne’s most vulnerable populations including refugee, homeless, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, women experiencing violence and people with a mental illness. cohealth collaborates and partners with many organisations, including the ZBGC youth project, to address health inequalities.
Our current and new youth project officer, Starlady has been handling the project since 2016 and has been doing a fantastic job!
Before Starlady ZBGC’s first youth project officer, Zoe Birkinshaw, who joined ZBGC in 2012, has helped the project through:
- Helped to coordinate and run the 2015 Trans and Gender Diverse Youth Summit
- Running countless workshops from 2012-Present, including the 2015 OutintheOpen Festivale
- Co- organised the youth forum at the 2014 GASP Forum on Health Care Pathways for Intersex, Trans and Gender Diverse Young People
- Built strong partnerships and collaborations with a number of community organisations
